Interested in Becoming Catholic? In the Catholic Church, the Church began the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) to form those who had a desire to become part of the Roman Catholic Church. It is a process that provides formation for those who are non-baptized (Catechumens) and those who are baptized already in another Christian denomination or Catholic, Byzantine, or Orthodox Churches (Candidates). During the journey, the Catechumen or Candidate learns the basic teachings and doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church, and the journey of formation leads to the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist given at the Easter Vigil. Once those Sacraments are administered, the person is no longer a Catechumen or Candidate but a fully-initiated person who continues their faith journey of serving Christ in ministries within the Church and fulfilling their baptismal promises of living, learning, sharing, and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. If you are interested
and want to inquire about becoming Catholic, please call Fr. Tony at the Parish Office at 724-593-7479 or email him at aditto@dioceseofgreensburg.org. Once interest is shown, an initial inquiry session will be scheduled.
