St. Raymond & St. Boniface News

The Decorating Committee of St. Raymond Church will be working in the Church on Tuesday,
February 16 at 8:30 AM. We will be getting ready for Lent. Volunteers needed.

St. Raymond’s Golf Outing… If you did not receive a registration form, you may pick one up on the table in the back
of the church. Fee is $75 per person or $300 per foursome. This includes green fees, cart rental, Continental breakfast,
a catered NY Strip Steak dinner, hot dog/chips, dessert, beverages, a goodie bag; plus a chance to win
Door Prizes, Skill Prizes, first, second and third place team awards, a First Place Ladies’ team award,
and Grand Prize Raffle. Kenny Ross Chevrolet & Cadillac of Somerset is sponsoring the Hole-in-One
Prize 2010 Chevy Cobalt. There is a limit of 144 golfers or 36 teams so do not delay. Register early to
hold your spot. Team payment must be made by March 31.

Sacramental Prep Reminder… The final preparation class for your child will meet from 7-8:30 PM.,
Monday, March 8 in St. Raymond’s Social Hall. Each child and a parent must attend this class. Parents
are also reminded to volunteer with your child to “Carry the Gifts” during a Mass on any Sunday and/or
Holy Day. “Carrying the Gifts” is regarded as a special time of presentation to the Lord.

Religious Education Classes… Please remember there are only seven classes remaining. Parents are encouraged to
have your child attend all of these remaining classes. Thanks for your support!

St. Boniface will be having their annual Fish/Shrimp Dinners every Friday night during Lent (except
Good Friday) from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. Adult Dinner: Fish/$7.50, Shrimp/$8:00. Dinners include:
Baked Cod sandwich or Fried Shrimp with macaroni & cheese, French fries, and coleslaw. Children’s
Dinner: $5.00 includes: Fried Cod tail sandwich, fries, pierogies, and applesauce. Complimentary
desserts available with each meal.

Just a reminder: Parish Office hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

News From the Diocese

Flu Season Directives...Just a reminder that the restrictions regarding the distribution of the Precious Blood for the faithful, and the exchange of the sign of peace are to be lifted effective February 17, 2010. Because of concerns related to the H1N1 influenza, extraordinary measures had been implemented during this flu season to protect the health of the faithful. On Ash Wednesday, parishes within the diocese may resume their ordinary practices in these matters.

Second Collection for Home Missions of the Americas’...Next Sunday, February 21, the collection for the Home Missions of the Americas’ will be taken up at all Masses. The purpose of the collection is to assist the apostolate among the Blacks, Native Americans and the Hispanics of our country and of Latin America. Our Sister-Diocese of Sicuani,
Peru also benefits from this appeal. The American Board of Catholic Missions will also share in the benefits. Your donation to the Missions of the Americas’ Appeal on the First Sunday of Lent, February 21st, can be an expression of your faith as we begin the holy season of Lent.

Cancellations: Due to weather...The Diocesan Youth Rally that was scheduled for last week, Saturday, February 6, at Greensburg Central Catholic High School is cancelled and rescheduled for April 24, 2010. The Virtus at Geibel High School that was scheduled for last week, Saturday, February 6, is cancelled and rescheduled for March 6, 2010
